Quordle is four Wordles played at the same time. You get nine guesses to crack four hidden five-letter words, and every word you type is entered into all four grids at once. That single rule changes everything: a guess is no longer aimed at one answer, it is a probe that has to earn its keep across four boards. The rules in thirty seconds

The core idea: it is a coverage game
With only nine guesses for four words, you average a little over two guesses per board. There is no room to wander. The winning approach is to spend your opening guesses gathering the maximum amount of information across all four grids, then convert that information into solves as quickly as possible. Think of the early game as reconnaissance and the late game as execution.
Step 1: Open with a fixed system, and do not react yet
Play the same two opening words every game, no matter what colours come back. The goal of guesses one and two is not to solve anything — it is to test ten different high-frequency letters and all five vowels across every board. A clean pairing such as SLATE then CURIO exposes A, E, U, I and O plus S, L, T, C and R in two moves. Step 2: Attack the board that is closest to solved
After your fixed openers, resist the urge to spread every guess across all four grids. Pick the board with the most green and yellow tiles and finish it. Solving a board costs one guess but removes a quarter of the pressure, and the word you use to solve it is still scored on the other three grids — so a focused guess is never wasted. Bank the easy solves first, then move to the next-closest board.
Step 3: Respect the guess economy
Nine guesses, four words. If you burn two on openers, you have seven left to close out four boards, which means you can only afford to miss a handful of times. The practical rule: never play a word that cannot solve at least one board outright once you are past the opening phase. Every guess in the back half should be a real attempt at an answer, not another exploration.
Step 4: Never tunnel-vision on one grid
The most common way to lose Quordle is to obsess over the hardest board and let the other three rot. Keep your eyes moving. If a board is stuck, look for a guess that makes progress there and tests the unknown letters on the boards you have been ignoring. The four grids are not separate puzzles; they are four readouts of the same guess.
Common mistakes that cost the win
- Solving in order. Boards are not meant to be cleared top-left to bottom-right. Solve them in order of how close they are, not where they sit.
- Improvising the opening. Reacting to your first guess wastes the information a planned second word would have gathered.
- Forgetting a board exists. Glance at all four after every guess. A grid you ignore is a grid you lose.
