This privacy policy explains what data Wordle Hints collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
What we collect
We collect very little. Specifically:
- Anonymous analytics. We use Google Analytics to count page views and measure broad usage patterns. Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser. We do not connect analytics data to you personally.
- Server logs. Our hosting providers log standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp). These logs are retained for security and abuse prevention, typically for 30 days.
- Ad data. If we serve ads through Google AdSense, AdSense may set cookies and collect data about you to personalize ads. AdSense's data practices are governed by Google's privacy policy.
What we don't collect
- Your Wordle guesses. The solver runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type into it is sent to our servers.
- Your Wordle streak. We don't track or store your game history.
- Your name, email, or any personal identifier, unless you explicitly send us a message.
- Account data. We don't have user accounts.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, primarily for analytics and ad serving. See our cookies policy for details and how to disable them.
Your rights
If you're in a jurisdiction with data protection laws (EU GDPR, UK GDPR, California CCPA, etc.), you have rights to access, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Since we collect almost no personal data, most of these requests will return "we don't have data on you." If you want to exercise your rights, email [email protected].
Children's privacy
Wordle Hints is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the site.
